Skin Pen – Microneedling

What are the benefits of Microneedling?

Microneedling is used to treat and improve conditions like acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, loose skin, skin texture, pore size, brown spots, stretch marks, and pigment issues.

How Microneedling Works?

It causes controlled micro-injuries that stimulate your body’s natural wound healing process, while minimizing cellular damage. The result is effective remodeling of scar tissue, while keeping the overall structure of the skin intact.

With as few as three non-invasive and affordable treatments spaced 30 days apart, you can improve your appearance for six months after your last treatment – and step out with confidence.

There are three phases to the wound-repair process:

  • Phase I: Inflammation. Piercing the skin triggers your immune system to disinfect the wounds, remove debris, increase blood flow and begin to create new tissue.
  • Phase II: Proliferation. The wound is rebuilt with new granulation cells, which are part of the extracellular matrix. Additionally, a new network of blood vessels develops.
  • Phase III: Remodeling. The wound is replaced with new dermal tissues and blood vessels.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should you do Microneedling?
Micro-needling can be safely repeated every 4-6 weeks until you achieve the desired results. For collagen induction we recommend to start with 3 treatments, but with a minimum separation time of 4 to 6 weeks between treatments. For scar reduction an average of 3 to 6 treatments are recommended.
How long does it take to heal from Microneedling?

Most of the visible recovery from microneedling happens in the first day or two after treatment, but healing will still be happening under the surface of your skin afterward.

Does Microneedling hurt?

During a microneedling session, the outermost layer of the skin is pricked with microneedles to promote collagen formation and skin regrowth. The procedure isn’t overly painful. There are ways to minimize discomfort. The most common side effects of microneedling are skin redness and irritation.
